Acoco’s Botanic Garden

Acoco’s Botanic Garden is located in the south side of Tainan. It’s a fairly long way from Tainan train station, at the intersection of Fuji Rd, occupying 4 square metres. Back in 2001, like every other young, romantic, dreamy teenager, Aco didn’t miss out on watching the trending Taiwanese drama, Meteor Garden. In the plot, Makino Tsukushi asked her parents “Is my name, Tsukushi, a kind of wild grass?”. This kind is one that no matter how many people trample upon it and deliver cruelty upon it, it can still be reborn and grow when the new spring comes. For Aco, this sparked the symbolism in her mind about the perseverance of the plant, and further, how it can translate to life.

At present, the exhibition area in Acoco’s Botanic Garden is about her life experiences and inspirations from her surroundings. She transferred them into different visual works. Each different event connects the ordinary life to a peculiar and absurd atmosphere. She uses several different media and materials to create works as exports of experiences, of life changes and of humour in these past years for the audience.
